After a successful career in the energy business, including founding and selling a gasoline distributorship, Ms. Mackenzie and her husband founded U.S. Gas Transportation in 1987. After buying out their partners in 1991, they grew USGT to over $500 million in sales in less than 7 years. Last year they sold the firm to Acquila Energy where she became the president and now oversees daily operations for the combined companies
Ms. Bingaman served as Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Antitrust division during the critical years of the Microsoft investigation. Joining the nation's sixth largest long-distance carrier in 1997, Ms. Bingaman was president of the Local Services division of LCI International until aquired by Qwest in mid 1998. Today she is the founder, Chairman and CEO of Valor Telecom, a company that has acquired over 560,000 customers in 3 southwestern states in less than 2 years
